KAIROS uses the astronomy-engine library for astronomical calculations including Moon phase angle and illumination, solar and lunar ecliptic longitudes, planetary longitudes, and the position inputs used for aspect and sign context.

Dates and positions still depend on instant, time zone, location where a calculation requires it, and the implementation’s stated conventions. Display differences should be investigated at the input and method level rather than explained through symbolism.

Chinese calendar and Huangli fields

KAIROS uses the lunar-javascript library for Chinese lunar-calendar and Huangli fields, including lunar date, stems and branches, day Yi and day Ji activity lists, clash, deity markers, directions, Peng Zu material, and lunar mansion where returned.

In this activity context, Yi is commonly rendered as activities considered suitable or appropriate, while Ji is commonly rendered as activities considered unsuitable or to avoid. These English labels are summaries, not claims that one translation captures every edition, lineage, or historical use.
